DIRECTOR
KAY SEYMOUR
Kay's first experience with Sweet Adelines was in 1962 when she joined a chapter in
Lima, Ohio. In 1969, she and her family moved to Dayton and she began singing with
Gem City Chorus.  With the encouragement of Gem City's director Jean Barford, she
grew with the chorus and eventually became an Assistant Director.  Kay got to use her
talents as a Assistant Director when Jean became ill and she had to step in to direct
Gem City at the International Chorus Final in Las Vegas where they placed 5th.

Recently, Kay has been the Assistant Director of Velvet Hills Chorus in Colorado as well
a member of the SAI quartet Studio 4.

Kay has earned many, many medals in her SAI career including five 1st & 2nd place
medals and one 3rd & 4th place medal
.

Kay is the proud mother of two grown daughters. Her eldest daughter lives in Queens,
New York and sings with the Greater Nassau chorus.  Her youngest daughter lives in
Denver, Colorado and is expecting Kay's first grandchild this June.     

Kay has been an active SAI member for 46 years as Assistant and Associate Director of
three Regional and International Gold medal choruses. She delighted and honored to
be Director of the award winning Pride of Toledo Chorus!
