Real Women. Real Harmony. Real Fun!

Our Director

Kay Seymour

As Director of the Pride of Toledo chorus, Kay brings many years of barbershop experience. As the daughter of a barber-shopper, this style of music has been coursing through her veins for the last 50 years.

The Limelighter’s Chorus in Lima, Ohio; Gem City Chorus in Dayton, Ohio, and Velvet Hills in Colorado Springs, Co.; has been the source of most of her learning as well as almost every Regional and International educational opportunity.

Kay has had the opportunity to be Assistant/Associate Director of three Regional champion choruses as well as the 5 time International Gold medal chorus, Gem City Chorus in Dayton, OH.  Coaching other chorus’ and quartets keeps the calendar full, as well.

In August of 2008 she packed up and moved from Denver, CO to Toledo, OH for the sole purpose of directing the Pride of Toledo Chorus. In the first year of her being with this wonderful chorus she has earned the title of Master Director.

As a licensed Realtor with the State of Ohio, Kay keeps very busy, indeed. She is also the proud Mother of Mindy Smith, NYC, and grand-daughter, Lily, born in May of 2009. Also, on every chance, she visits her younger daughter Michele, in Denver, and grandson, Jackson, born in June of 2008. What more fun can you have?

“I have loved every minute of this hobby and it has helped me become the woman that I am today. What other hobby affords you the opportunity to grow as a person, make friends from all over the world, and perform the music that you love. It is the music that brought me in the door and the friendships and high level singing that has kept me in the organization.” says Kay.

Pride is both delighted in honored to have her with us as a FRIEND and director.
